Can’t believe I missed this…

And if you did, too, you need to see it. Cheney gets an earful — in his own words — as he hems and haws in the aftermath of Katrina. On live TV.

Bye Bye Blair

Complaining that his impending exit was a little tumultuous owing to the icky fact that people started leaving the party and/or calling for his head, Tony Blair weakly offered:
“I would have preferred to do this in my own way”
Well, last time you did things in your own way, it was called the Iraq [...]

Commenting busted

I’m not sure how or why, but my commenting is acting squirelly again. If you’re trying to leave one, stay tuned. I’ll have it fixed shortly.
UPDATE: The massively awesome folks at Laughing Squid have resolved this problem, which, as it turns out, was of the id10t/PICNIC variety on my part. Comment away.

Been there, etc.

Mobile phones now contain cameras, MP3 players, GPS units, video games and more. Generally, however, you don’t go a week without a dropped call, regardless of what carrier you’re with (and believe me, I’ve had ‘em all).

Some examples:

Your morning smile

Max Mayfield, Director of the U.S. National Hurricane Center, says Katrina was just a spit and a cough.
A tireless advocate for hurricane preparedness, he suggests that it’s only a matter of time before the big one — the really big one — makes landfall.
The difficulty, of course, lies in the way coastal real estate development [...]

Best Fight Scene Ever

I found this again the other day. Possibly the stupidest and most homoerotically charged fight scene in cinematic history.

It’s incomprehensible that this thing was ever greenlighted by someone with money. But then, when Rob Schneider can have a career, I guess anything can happen. Cue the winged pigs.
