Federal Liberal M.P. Michael Ignatieff seems to have been smitten by the puffin, an indigenous bird to Newfoundland, where the Liberals held a caucus meeting. Indeed, he’s decided the bird would be a good candidate for party mascot.
“It’s a noble bird because it has good family values. They stay together for 30 years. They [...]

The man Bush tellingly called “Fredo” has finally sucked it, and sucked it hard.
WACO, Tex., Aug. 27 — Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales, whose tenure has been marred by controversy and accusations of perjury before Congress, announced his resignation in Washington today, declaring that he had “lived the American dream†by being able to [...]

This story is sure to get pretty stinky.
An activist group is alleging that Quebec undercover police may have tried to instigate violence at the recent “Three Amigos” summit at Chateau Montebello. Protestors claim that three cops, who have admitted to posing as protesters, were trying to get everyone all fired up, with the ultimate hope [...]

History will not be kind to former telemarketing whiz Karl Rove. He’s universally recognized, even by his Republican peers, as a nasty piece of work. But imagine being known as “Bush’s Brain”? That’s like being known as “Wayne Newton’s Taste, Dignity and Relevance”.
Pretty amazing to think that even he has now abandoned Bush. The biggest [...]

Nothing will screw up a Presidential bid quicker than when your kid gets into trouble. (Well, unless you’re Dubya, in which case normal rules and/or common sense are deemed illegal and sent to Gitmo to have their nipples electrocuted. But I digress.)
Al Gore’s son was pulled over for speeding on a California freeway early Wednesday [...]

Another brilliantly vitriolic piece by Matt Taibbi, this time on Rudy Giuliani.
A little excerpt:

I’m honestly speechless.
Reports are emerging from members of the movie industry that the Department of Homeland Security has designated the 1982 film TRON as “sensitive”, and ordered Walt Disney Studios to turn over all copies of the film in its posession. Retailers are also receiving notices to remove all copies of the film from stock [...]

Google has announced that through Google Earth, the world will be able to view high-res imagery of the war-torn Darfur region. The attempt here is to give better proof to the average viewer that a genocide is indeed taking place.
Will this intervention help when so many others have failed? Time will tell. But it’s definitely [...]

From Yahoo:
ST. JOHN’S, N.L. (CP) - More than a year after Prime Minister Stephen Harper was elected, his government continues to sell itself as “Canada’s new government.”
But one federal cabinet minister admitted Wednesday he avoids the oft-used partisan slogan and wonders why it’s in every government news release.
Classic. The bumbling Harpo government can’t even keep [...]
