No downloads, no peace
Well, it’s official. We may not see the sequel to the remake of “Herbie the Love Bug” for a few more months.
Screenwriters moved to the picket lines this morning, as last-minute negotiations between the writers’ unions and producers failed to avert a strike over payments from producers for so-called new media, among other issues.
It’s somewhat amazing to me that a big part of the dispute is related to the question of how to structure payment for content that’s presented online. I’m not sure how they all missed the fact that in 2007, online is sort of a big deal.
But then, this is coming from the same people that, given the opportunity, would release Saw 16: The Parent Trap.
