The Photography Peak?
The photography discussion continues. I found Mike Rothermel’s post on Capturing Your World worth a read: he argues that the “shoot it yourself” photography craze is coming to an end. While I find that unlikely, I think there’s truth to this paragraph — and the rest of his blog isn’t bad, either.
As the price of DSLRs lowers, whoever really wants to get into it, won’t be purchasing a P&S anymore, if they’re smart. Save up a bit longer, and you can get a bigger, better camera. As I’m becoming a bit more of a professional photographer myself, I’m trying to help people realize the value of a professional. If you want your car fixed, you take it to a car shop, if you want the job done right. Unless you are a mechanic yourself, you know you don’t have the skills, someone else does. The same is true if you want some senior pictures done. You could always take them yourself, but the transmission may fall out a month later. In other words, someone else can do it better then you can.
